Frequently Asked Question for SETC Test

 

Q 1.   Is SETC applicable of all posts?

Ans.   SETC is mandatory for being eligible for Group “C” Posts of clerk.

 

Q 2.   I have to apply only in online mode?

Ans.   Yes.

 

Q 3.   Can I opt for my preferred location for the test?

Ans.   Yes, from the available venues/centres.

 

Q 4.   Can I opt for the preferred schedule/time slot for the test?

Ans.   Yes, subject to availability of time slot on the date you select.

 

Q 5.   Where can I see the syllabus?

Ans.   Available on the online portal for SETC.

 

Q 6.   When I should reach the examination centre?

Ans.   30 min before your scheduled time.

 

Q 7.   What is the percentage of marks to pass the test?

 Ans.  50% marks in basic computer knowledge test 30 wpm in English & 25 wpm    in  Hindi typing.

 

Q 8.    Can I deposit the test fee by demand draft/cheque?

Ans.    No, payment can be made through Net Banking, Credit and Debit Card only.

 

Q 9.  When shall I get the admit card?

Ans.    After paying the fee amount.

 

Q 10.  Can I change/amend in particulars entered in form?

Ans.    Yes, but before the submitting the fee.

 

Q 11.  Do I need to send copies of documents?

Ans.    No, you are required to upload the documents on the portal only.

 

Q 12.  Do I require to bring original certificate at the time of Test?

Ans.    Yes for verification.

 

Q 13.  Do I need to bring photo ID ?

Ans.  Biometric Attendance will be applicable. However, you are required one    Photo ID issued by Govt like Driving Licence, Pan Card, Voter ID etc.

 

Q 14.  What is the last date of applying SETC?

Ans. Registration for test for will remain open through the year along with schedule. You can register any time and opt the schedule as per convenience from the exam slots available.

Q 15. The application form is not loading, what shall I do?

Ans. Preform the following steps to access the application form

  • Check the internet connectivity with computer.
  • Check the browser.
  • Delete the cookies from your browser.
  • You can remove all cookies created within a specific time by selecting the Clear.
  • Browsing data option in Tools menu.

 

Q 16. Which browser shall I use?

Ans. You can use Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

 

Q 17. What are the dates for application?

Ans. There are no specific dates to apply for SETC Part 1 and SETC Part 2 Exams.

 

Q 18. What is the fee of applying for the test?

Ans. Please refer the below mentioned table for fees of different tests.

Q 19. I have created my login ID/password, is the application process complete?

Ans. No, after login id and password generation kindly complete perform the following steps to complete the application process:

Steps 1: Submit the Following Details:

  • Personal Information 1: Candidate Information
  • Personal Information 2: Contact Details
  • Personal Information 3: Qualification Details
  • Photo Sign upload
  • Claim Details
  • Upload Documents

Step 2: Apply for Test

Step 3: Pay Application Fee Online, via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI.

Step 4: Take the print out of application form,

Step 5: Schedule Exam and then only your application is completed.

Step 6: Download Admit Card and take the print out of it, then only your application is completed.

 

Q 20. I have forgotten my ID or password, how can I retrieve it?

Ans. Click on Forget Password link on Login page and provide your security question details to retrieve it.

 

Q 21. I have created more than one ID, which shall I use?

Ans. No candidate should create multiple id, multiple id creation may lead to application rejection.

 

Q 22. I don’t know the process to upload photo.

Ans. Scan your latest passport size photograph and click on upload button and provide the location of your image and click on submit button to upload it. You can re-size the photo using Paint utility.

 

Q 23. I am trying to upload photo, but it is not getting uploaded.

Ans. Kindly check the size of photograph, a good quality photograph of size up to 25KB should be uploaded.

 

Q 24. I have entered post graduate qualification, minimum qualification is matriculation, but still I am getting the message that I am not eligible.

Ans. Kindly refer the advertisement for age limit.

 

Q 25. I don’t have a mobile, whose number I should enter?

Ans. Mobile number is very important for submitting the form, application can’t be registered without mobile number. You must give your number or your close relative.

 

Q 26. I don’t know the process to make payment?

Ans. Candidate can make the payment using offline or online mode

Using Online mode: Candidate will make the payment using Internet Banking, Candidate can also pay using Credit/Debit Card and UPI.

 

Q 27. Is the fee different for reserved caste/category?

Ans. As given above under Question No 18

 

Q 29. Is it safe too make online payment of application fee for an Internet Café?

Ans. Please take proper security precaution, while using the online payment.

 

Q 30. I have multiple IDs, I don’t remember from which Account I have paid.

Ans. Check the application form status in your login. No candidate should create multiple id, multiple id creation may lead to rejection.

 

Q 31. I have filled the form and paid the fee, what is the next step?

Ans. There is no need to send any document at this stage ensure that confirmation of your payment is shown in login. Schedule your exam as per your convenience and download the admit card.

 

Q 32. Shall I take a print and send with document proofs?

Ans. There is no need to send any document at this stage.

 

Q 33. I have faced an error while applying, what shall I do?

Ans.  Follow following steps to rectify the errors,

  • Check the internet connectivity with computer
  • Check the browser
  • Delete the cookies from your computer

You can remove all cookies created within a specific time period by selecting the Clear browsing data option in the Tools menu.
